There is a certain happiness sighted when your bus comes along. It is of course a small specialized form of happiness and will never be a great thing.

It's the music

The difference between riding Paris Metro and light rail in Sacramento:

It's the music.

Aaah, des memoires de la Ligne 1. The crowds...

They're heading towards Vincennes...it looks like they started not too long after Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and ended after Concorde.

And those guys are good. I've heard both good and bad busking dans le Métro parisien and on the London Underground.

I've had some great, and interesting, experiences on the Paris Métro. Including the rant by the Old French Whore (think of the Saturday Night Live skit when Garth Brooks hosted).

There's a local band called "Sacramento" that was fairly notorious for pirate shows on Light Rail. Maybe the local branch of the Cacophony Society would support more spontaneous music on the rails?
